What you can expect

In the position of physicist / engineer, you will support our Color Science & Technology team.

  • You will calculate the optical properties of thin films and photonic components, using commercial software (RSoft and LightTools) in the process.
  • In addition, you will evaluate the technical feasibility of simulation results.
  • You will further develop our existing methods and processes.
  • Furthermore, you will develop mathematical and physical models to characterize optical characteristics of pigments and coating structures.
  • You will calculate the light-material interaction in near and far fields based on corresponding models.
  • Beyond that, you will translate the results of modeling into materials and process development.

What we expect

  • You have earned a PhD in physics or engineering and are intimately familiar with the fields of geometrical optics, wave optics, light refraction, light scattering and ray tracing.
  • In addition, you have already gained some experience with light simulation applications as well as in the development and technical implementation via electronic data processing of mathematical and physical models.
  • You are familiar with the manufacturing and coating processes that are customary on the market in the area of optical systems and with the overall conditions that apply to modeling as a result thereof.
  • You utilize your good knowledge of the programming language C++ and in the area of object-oriented programming productively.
  • You are well acquainted with the standard IT applications and are versed in using your excellent English skills in an international environment in your day-to-day work.
  • You are also impressive for your high level of initiative, and your strengths include a focus on performance and innovation as well as teamwork and communication skills.
