  • During the first 12 months on-the-job training in China, you as a trainee will get an overview about the BASF Coatings' products and processes and be integrated quickly into the BASF family.
  • Afterwards, the 12 months overseas training will offer you the chance to familiarize with the variety of our worldwide company operations and to prepare yourself for your future assignment at BASF in China.
  • Additionally, you will have the possibility to be well connected with the global organization, thanks to a wide range of networking events and ongoing support from your personal guide and mentor.
  • After your rotation, you will be responsible for developing new ideas for research projects and participating in or managing research and development projects.
  • Furthermore, you will immerse yourself in scientific research by continuously observing technical trends and scientific publications while leading and coaching your team.

What we expect

  • We are looking for self-starting, committed scientists who will enjoy working independently in a challenging environment and continually develop the company through their commitment.
  • In addition to your strong communication skills in Chinese and English, your German skills will be considered as a plus.
  • You have earned an above-average PhD degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
  • Ideally, you have focused on binder or coating systems or have experience with application technology.
  • You have advanced experience with Windows and MS Office packages.
  • In addition to your analytical way of thinking and ability to make decisions, you are aware of topics regarding safety, health and the environment.
