Where the Chemistry Happens… Quality Technician – Wyandotte, Michigan – (1704349) The Quality Technician is responsible for all aspects of personal safety, product quality, and operations for overseeing the inspection and assembly department within the Cellasto Plant for their respective shift. Will be tasked with auditing the products and processes in accordance with BASF and customer standards. The individual is also responsible for contributing to the success of plant goals and objectives through their individual contributions to team activities, thereby promoting the continued advancement of a High-Performance Organization. In addition, the Quality Technician will act as an internal quality liaison, representing the "voice of the customer" within the organization. This position is part of a job family with multiple levels and will be filled at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. In addition, the following activities will be performed by the Quality Technician:

  • Lead the visual inspection and assembly of finished materials in support of performance targets.
  • Audit process to BASF and Customer Standards.
  • Coach contracted work force to ensure safety, quality and efficiency are maintained.
  • Frequent interaction with internal customers
  • Infrequent external customer interaction.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent education
  • 1 Year experience in Quality Management Systems with a solid understanding of TS 16949 and ISO 14001
  • 1 Year of supervisory experience
  • 1 Year experience using measurement tools (i.e. rulers, gages, calipers, micrometers, or similar tools)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AS or BS Degree from an accredited institution
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing SAP or a similar ERP system
