The position is based in Palmyra, MO (also referred to as the Hannibal, MO site), and reports to the QA/QC Manager located in Beaumont, TX. BASF's site in Palmyra is located on the Mississippi River. The site is a leading producer of agricultural chemicals for our Agricultural Solutions business, and is experiencing dynamic growth. The site is located on 1600 acres and employs approximately 330 people including contractors. The extensive regulatory requirements create a challenge to achieve, maintain and enhance world class EHS performance. Site Quality Assurance Leader (1702019) - Hannibal, MO As a Site Quality Assurance Leader, you will be responsible for Quality Assurance matters at the BASF Palmyra, MO, and supported external Toller sites. You will accomplish this by leading, implementing and supporting the Quality Department activities, ensuring compliance with BASF corporate safety and quality guidelines and the Site Responsible Care Management System.   • Lead quality risk assessments and support Quality and Responsible Care (RC) audits
  • Lead and implement continuous improvement of the BASF quality management systems used to support production activities at the site, including but not limited to data management and SAP QM
  • Support the non-conformance management (NCM) program, actively participate in associated root cause failure analysis, and implement corrective actions & preventative measures; Monitor and report first past quality scores for supported product lines
  • Support Management of Change (MOC) process for quality-related activities involving changes in raw material vendors, product assurance plans, chemical process, specification, analytical methods, etc.
  • Provide support for the release, regulatory compliance and registration activities of final products; Manage Certificates of Analysis
  • Manage shelf-life stability studies for selected products; Provide technical support for the regional analytical standards program
  • Provide production assistance at BASF and Toller sites; Ensure an open and positive two-way communication interface with the production groups within BASF and at Toller facilities

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…

  • BS/BA in Chemistry with 10+ years of technical experience -OR- MS in Chemistry with 7+ years of technical experience -OR- PhD in Chemistry with 5+ years of technical experience
  • Experience providing analytical chemistry support in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience handling technical issues of quality compliance and regulatory concern
  • Willing and able to travel domestically and to Mexico to support external Toller sites
  • Demonstrated strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, analyze, troubleshoot, apply good judgment when dealing with others, and provide practical solutions for real world problems
