  • Corporate Affairs at BASF Japan plays a vital role to ensure consistent communication of BASF’s core messages to as well as engagement with all stakeholders including customers, employees, media, public authority, and its relevant community. The team is committed to building and enhancing the engagement with stakeholders to help the company to achieve its objectives.
  • This “Marketing Communications” position carries the responsibility for developing, coordinating and implementing marketing communication strategies and programs to support the relevant local business units in achieving the business goals in cooperation with relevant Local Business Managers, Industry Team /Customer Team leaders as well as Regional Business Unit Communicators.
  • Lead and Coach the relevant Specialist, Marketing Communications.

Main Tasks Marketing Communications:

  • Develop and implement marketing communications strategies to support the relevant local business units.
    • Understand the strategy of the relevant business unit and ensure consistency in messages in all communication activities.
    • Provide consultation and/or implement execution of marketing communication activities including digital/online communication, co-branding, trade show, CRM, Marketing Automation, customer events, media events, advertisement, brochure production, and give-away.
  • Develop and implement marketing communication strategies of cross Business Unit activities including Industry Team/Customer Team (IT/CT) in cooperation with respective IT/CT leaders as well as Marketing Managers.
  • As a strategic business partner of the relevant LBM, IT/CT leaders as well as RBU Communicators, advise and lead all marketing communications activities.
  • Drive the implementation of BASF Strategy (Global/Regional/Local) with effective marketing communication measures
  • Drive the brand promise – “Connected to deliver intelligent, sustainable solutions”
  • Support in Internal/External Communications, Crisis Communications
    • Provide appropriate information from the relevant business units or IT/CT to be developed in Internal/External Communications

Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position

  • Bachelor degree in Communications, Marketing or Business Management
  • 7 years working experience in Corporate/Marketing Communications in an international and multicultural environment
  • Digital communication
  • Basic knowledge of marketing and branding
  • Strong conceptual thinking and business/marketing sense
  • Solution provider for a changing market and customer expectation
  • Good leadership skills to lead project members involved in communication programs
  • Decisive, flexible, open-minded and robust, possessing a lot of initiative
  • Excellent in English and Japanese, both spoken and written
  • Good computer and Office programs skills
