We are seeking a Process Technology Manager to work out of our Wyandotte, MI facility.

Formula for Success: You Will…

  • Ensure the effectiveness of Process Engineering support and Maintenance direction for the Wyandotte Dispersions & Resins plant.
  • Maintain first-class plant reliability, process safety performance, and operational effectiveness.
  • Be accountable for the quality and viability of the PSM program, working with individuals within the Wyandotte Dispersions & Resins engineering team, as well as PSM experts in Wyandotte and the BASF Process Safety Center of Excellence (CoE).

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 11 years of experience in Chemical Engineering activities related to plant operations and optimization; continuous improvement experience preferred. Note: you will be required to obtain your Green Belt within two years (if you do not already have).
  • Experience in major plant design, commission, and start-up projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership of and participation in large technical teams, along with the necessary organizational skills to drive a diverse group of projects to completion.
  • Experience working under deadline pressure for long periods of time while delivering desired results.
  • Working familiarity with other primary engineering disciples through project work (e.g., mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls).
  • Demonstration of these technical competencies:
    • Deep knowledge of Wyandotte Dispersions & Resins manufacturing technologies (to be developed, not a pre-hire job requirement).
    • OpEx orientation
    • Capital Project Management
    • PSM/RMP expertise and commitment to EHS standards and practices
    • BASF Engineering Standards
    • Root Cause Analysis
    • Knowledge of OSHA/EPA/MIOSHA/DEQ regulation and requirements
    • Project Management
