BASF started doing business in Japan in 1888. Activities cover four business segments including chemicals, performance products, functional materials & solutions and agricultural solutions. BASF maintains a strong research and development presence in Japan including the Yokohama Innovation Center (engineering plastics) and the Research and Development Laboratory and Application Technology Center for Battery Materials in Amagasaki.

The Coatings division of BASF is a global expert in the development, production and marketing of innovative and sustainable automotive OEM and refinish coatings, industrial coatings and decorative paints. We create advanced performance solutions and drive performance, design and new applications to meet our partners’ needs all over the world.

Main Tasks

12 month, you will be based at the BASF Coatings headquoters in Muenster, Germany or at our sites in Europe or US. The program will prepare you for assignments at BASF’s Coatings division in Japan with challenging tasks, exciting projects, international exposure and responsibility from day one. Minimum Education and Qualificaiton Required fore the Positon

• Self-starting, committed and enjoy working independently in a challenging environment
• Excellent communicator and good command of written and spoken English
• Interculturally oriented, studied or have worked abroad
• Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering or Science discipline
• Internship and/or work experience
• Mobile individual who thrives in any of our varied locations around the world
