Where the Chemistry Happens… Working in a fast paced, challenging, and dynamic environment, Production & Technical Services team members work together to ensure that production processes run smoothly in order meet customer demands. The Production team, which includes operators, technicians, supervisors, and specialists with varying backgrounds, ensures that our plants operate in a safe, efficient, and sustainable manner. The maintenance mechanic role is primarily to support the operation of equipment and facility, under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor. Formula for Success: You Will…

  • Work in safe manner.
  • Resolve safety issues timely.
  • Changeover equipment to support production requirements.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance on Equipment to ensure high efficiencies.
  • Work with contractors to ensure they are safe while on site.
  • Take part in continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform Root Cause analysis during unplanned equipment downtime.
  • Help build PM's on current and new equipment.
  • Order parts and materials to maintain equipment.
  • Ensure efficient production operation.
  • Understand all equipment in the plant.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…

  • Safety Oriented.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Degree from a Technical School preferred.
  • At least 3 years experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 3 years experience in basic equipment maintenance procedures.
  • Aerosol changeover and troubleshooting experience preferred.
  • At least 3 years experience with proven results in trouble shooting - faulty equipment.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems preferred.
  • 120, 240, and 480 volt electrical knowledge preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in pneumatic systems and controls preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in electrical and electronic control systems, relay logic control switches, actuators, solenoids, motors, etc. preferred.
  • Be able to work with direct line operators to improve their skills and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Knowledge of basic computer programs.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to participate in On-call rotation, supporting off shift(s).
  • Ability to work overtime as assigned.
  • Excellent attendance record.
