BASF's Sparks, Georgia Site is a leading producer of agricultural chemicals including fungicides and insecticides. We are looking for an Operator I to provide technical resources throughout the plant. This is a "hands-on" position.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Operation of processing equipment. Batching, blending, or mixing into finished product. Operations of packaging equipment to fill dry powders, granules, or liquids containers constituting a finished package.
  • Ensure batches are properly charged. Record batching information, code, add, and total production quantities.
  • Ensure quality control of finished product weights, labeling, placarding, coding, and marking. Generally inspect finished appearance of products for transfer to warehouse.
  • Assign Material Handlers to work station on production line and make sure all tasks are being completed satisfactorily.
  • Record and compute finished quantities produced. Record information on tally tickets, properly code finished goods and all packaging used.
  • Ensure processing equipment and personnel are operating in compliance with company training and all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Instruct and train production workers in job assignments.
  • Provide assistance with special projects as assigned.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You… Basic qualifications:

  • HS Graduate or accredited GED required.
  • 2 years experience or equivalent required in production/maintenance operations, or completion of in-house Operator training program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • WorkReady skill assessment certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to successfully lead teams in a production/manufacturing environment.
  • Intermediate PC skills.
  • Must manage time effectively.
  • Must be willing to work on a rotating shift.
