Objectives of the Position

• Provide efficient and effective technical service to customers to support projects/application development and business growth, peticular in automotive area.

• Maintain & strengthen good relationship with key brand owners/ tires/ customers via technical and operation personnel.

• Support to successfully launch suitable new applications concepts for Metal Injection Molding in various industries, especially in automotive industry by conducting technical service towards market driven innovation.

• Develop new application with MIM on automotive

Main Tasks

Technical Support

· Provide technical support to customers, including handling/ follow-up complaints on technical related issues.

· Visit customers to collect and analyse field information of customer expectations/ problems on product performance/ technical service needs to verify product suitability to application

· Provide competitive product performance information to verify competitiveness of own products. Information to be collected in a data base.

· Act as an active member in regional / local sales and marketing team to provide technical support such as organizing technical seminars, workshop to introduce and promote products.

· Ensure compliance with BASF EHS requirements

Product application and development

· Understand customer need, select the right product and conduct this application in OEMs.

· Provide technical guidance / assistance to customer for product applications, including optimization, troubleshooting, and training of personnel to enhance sales services

· Work as technical service representative to identify customer needs in terms of service, approaches and procedures to meet their satisfaction with products and services

· Provide inputs and recommendations for developing/evaluating product applications

· Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of newly developing technologies and manufacturing practices and share with the sales/marketing personnel to foster technical expertise throughout the region.

· Understand the characteristic of MIM technology applied on automotive through application engineering study. Identify the opportunity in automotive application and responsible the related development work with lab AE together.

· Understand automotive QC system

Support to define customer needs

· Make contacts via regular visits/calls, understand customer needs and develop application of products and services effectively in coordination with sales team

· Understand OEMs project development status and build the opportunity to introduce MIM technology, define the technology requirement for MIM and transfer it to R&D in terms of new material requirement.

· Foresee automotive market and technical trend and convert it into the impact to MIM technology, transfer it into the technology improvement requirement to R&D

Product launch

· Support to develop processes and procedures in technical aspects to ensure successful introduction of the defined products

· Participate as part of a product launch team to ensure smooth introduction of the product in customer serving processes

· Support presentation/ seminars and workshops to launch products

· Provide timely report to supervisor/ team members.

Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position

· Education: Bachler degree as Minimum, Master or above preferred, major in automotive, material processing or mechanical engineering.

· Working Experience: 3+ years working experience in automotive industry preferred, know Catamold/MIM technology, familiar with application in automotive; excellent graduate with master or Ph.D degree also can be considered.

· Technical & Professional Knowledge: Auto industry knowledge, CNC or injection moulding technology knowledge is a plus
