Where the Chemistry Happens… Lab Specialist (1703523) – Seneca, SC Shift: 5:45pm - 6:00am, 5:45am - 6:00pm The incumbent will perform complex and one-of-a-kind chemical and physical analysis on a wide array of materials for the support of research, development, and production activities. Responsibilities will include:

  • Analysis and reporting of in-process / finished samples.
  • Proficient in Data Management for purposes like COA generation and quality release (LIMS, SAP, PIMS)
  • Must be able to establish new/updating analytical procedures using generally accepted experimentation procedures.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing tools and sustained 5S program.
  • Conduct routine instrument checks/calibrations/verification/ validations.
  • Consults with vendors and off site analytical institutions regarding equipment functions and performance characteristics and analytical techniques.
  • Ensure documentation of lab activities (logbooks, databases, check sheets, etc)
  • Maintain sample retain program
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Customer communications and support
  • Completing various lab project work
  • Writing and managing laboratory procedures in an area of expertise
  • Coordinating and participating in laboratory 5S projects

EHS:

  • Adhere to established safety, health and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Initiate and participate in incident investigations.
  • Complete daily compliance tasks and reporting (if applicable)
  • Accomplish day-to-day and recurring EHS activities
    • Safety suggestions
    • Proactive hazard recognition and EHS issues
    • Work Permitting
    • Attend and participate in Safety meetings
    • Waste management activities - etc
