Where the Chemistry Happens… Utility Operator – Newark, California – (1703554) This position requires the ability to operate packaging equipment. You will interface with equipment controls to package finished product. You will operate packaging line while loading units to be packaged and preparing finished product for delivery or warehousing. You will work as a team member. Some of the duties and responsibilities are:

  • Labeling and packaging finished product.
  • Preparing product for shipment, including responsibility for assuring quality work and appearance of finished product packaging.
  • Completing all necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Safely and efficiently operating equipment, ensuring timely completion of quality products per production schedule. Minimizing and reworking scrap material.
  • Ensuring working tools and equipment is working properly, and proactively communicating with other operators and maintenance personnel when difficulties arise.
  • Maintaining housekeeping at excellent levels, keeping the mixers, floor, mixing deck and pigment pump area clean.
  • Maintaining good attendance record and reporting to assigned job station in a timely manner.
  • Following all appropriate Environmental Protection, Safety, Health and Quality (ESHQ) policies.
  • Wearing prescribed Personal Protective equipment and ensuring that prescribed safeguards are properly used.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You… Basic qualifications:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to perform basic math computations.
  • Must be able to communicate, read and write in the English language. Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 – 2 years of manufacturing / production experience
