Objectives:

To support Performance Materials (PM) business growth in South Asia by providing CAE simulation, design and application development support to customer projects along with New Market Development (NMD) activities. Also supporting other technical centers for overall growth of PM business globally and exchange of technological know-how across the globe.

Main tasks:

General :

1. To perform design development and troubleshooting for applications in Transportation, Industrial, Consumer and Construction industry.

2. Provide proactive technical support, including state-of-the-art customer consulting and training

3. Close co-ordination with customers (OEM, Tiers and Molders), sales/ marketing team and other global technical centers.

4. Update internal management and region on CAE projects and developments.

5. Collaborate to upgrade the know-how and skills of self and team as per industry requirements.

Strategic :

1. To support Performance Materials (PM) business growth in South Asia by providing CAE simulation, design and application development support to customer projects along with New Market Development (NMD) activities.

2. Planning Hardware and Software requirements and up-gradations.

3. Seek approvals from respective units for planned SW/HW requirements and follow through procurement process.

4. Develop deep and trusting customer relationships that ensure access to growth opportunities

through joint development activities.

5. Develop close relationship with Tiers and Molders to collaborate for tool development and molding trial activities.

6. Active participation in long term development projects with other technical centers e.g. NMD.

7. Constantly upgrade CAE center on required skills i.e. modeling (Hypermesh), Processing (Moldflow), Structural (Abaqus, RADIOS), Optimization (TOSCA/Optistruct, Inspire, Solid Thinking), Ultrasim, Ultracom, etc.

Leadership :

1. Take complete responsibility, accountability and ownership of customer projects to make sure it meets required quality and timelines.

2. Drive entire CAE solutions throughout the development cycle from concept to commercialization phase.

3. Proactively bring about innovative solutions, techniques and procedures to achieve higher effectiveness and efficiency.

4. Promote CAE to internal and external customers.

5. Planning and implementing long term and short term CAE goals with required priorities.

6. Collaborating self and team towards achieving the best results.

7. Enhancing technological know-how and sharing within the team.

Operational :

1. Provide techno-commercial feasibility to MD and sales team in order to propose competitive value proposition to customers.

2. Develop complete technical proposals on development projects and apply on customer projects

3. Effective project planning and scheduling for improved utility of Hardware, Software and Manpower.

4. Conduct analyses, keeping constant track of project progress and making sure it is delivered within given deadlines.

5. Summarizes project results and prepares reports for presentation to customers and sale/marketing team.

6. Continued support throughout the development cycle in co-ordination with TD/Sales as and when required.

7. Pro-actively support customer driven innovations and new application and manage joint development projects with full accountability.

8. Close coordination with internal CAE team & Innovation centers in Asia region as well as Europe and NAFTA to develop effective solutions in CAE.

9. Promote CAE capability to existing as well as new customers.

10. Development for metal to plastic replacements and plastic design optimization.

11. Attend molding trials to optimize and troubleshoot molding process.

12. Planning and maintaining software licenses and hardware.

Requirements:

1. In depth knowledge and experience of plastic material properties for carrying out CAE analysis - Structural, NVH & Crash.

2. In depth knowledge and experience of plastic material properties and injection molding analysis.

3. In depth knowledge and experience of metal to plastic replacement concepts and development activities.

4. In depth knowledge of entire CAE procedures viz. Preprocessing, Solution and Postprocessing along with working knowledge of respective tools like Hypermesh, RADIOSS, Abaqus, Moldflow, Optistruct, TOSCA, Ultrasim, etc.

5. Knowledge of plastics materials properties and specifications.

6. Strong background in design of injection molded parts and assemblies and their associated manufacturing processes.

7. Good familiarity with mold construction, design, and industry standards for mold processes and equipment

8. Good written and verbal communication skills, should be able to communicate well with all levels of management and employees as well as customers and external collaborators.
