Where the Chemistry Happens… This job exists to lead the mechanical asset management in the assigned plant(s) to maximize profitability and ensure safety. This function is primarily for providing plant-specific expertise within the operations organization to optimize asset utilization and performance. This position assists in developing asset strategies and analyzes and executes them to drive overall asset reliability improvements. The function is also to monitor for proper design, installation, and repair of mechanical equipment and piping systems per regulatory and BASF standards.   • Serve as the main contact for equipment-related EHS events and corrective measures.
  • Optimize and preserve technical equipment (existing and future/replacement installation).
  • Adhere to unit maintenance budget.
  • Be responsible for arranging/ordering technical services related to maintenance, turnarounds, and engineering.
  • Perform operational maintenance process including autonomous maintenance, prioritization of activities and work, and controlling cost (actual vs. planned).
  • Assess internal and external service providers.
  • Facilitate, track, identify, and implement all aspects of Asset Effectiveness within the operational unit. Participate in the Asset Manager community as spokesperson for assigned unit.
  • Develop and update plant-specific maintenance strategy.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of engineering/plant experience.
  • Results-oriented with strong implementation skills.
  • Experience with solid material handling processes is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A high level of influencing skills to achieve results without direct supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a diverse team environment - working closely with mechanics, operators, engineers, and management to solve problems and address systemic issues related to equipment reliability.
  • Sound technical knowledge of instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical equipment (rotating and fixed).
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and SAP.
  • DCS experience is a plus.
  • Travel 5%
