Description

• Responsible for directing and supervising the overall production operation of the DG Formulations ensuring that production rates are achieved meeting all requirements for high product quality, cross contamination avoidance (including microbiological contamination prevention), environmental protection, process safety and industrial hygiene.
• Meets production schedule.
• Verifies that raw material inventories are adequate to meet productio demands.
• Responsible for the compliance with the following company programs: Safety, Environmental Production, Process Safety, Cross Contamination Avoidance (including microbiological contamination prevention) and Industrial Hygiene Programs in the department.
• Responsible for the implementation of and compliance with quality standards, operational procedures and for the quality and quantity of products and services in the areas under his/her control (Formulation Areas).
• Provides support during start up activities to implement process changes and process optimization.
• Ensures that the different Human Resources Policies (Vacation, Absenteeism, and Disciplinary Actions) are followed by all department personnel.
• Responsible for achieving production targets through daily coordination with different production and support teams (Laboratory, Maintenance, Utilities and Warehouse
• Identifies and recommends priorities for capital investments in the Formulation Areas.
• Identifies, evaluates, and coordinates Maintenance jobs to perform them according to production schedules.
• Monitors production efficiencies of formulation processes. Provides technical support as required (troubleshooting, etc.)

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in a similar supervisory position or Highschool diploma with 13+ years of experience in a similar supervisory position.
• Technical knowledge of general engineering concepts, as well as of Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Labor laws knowledge.
• Knowledge in Corporate Policies and Procedures from Human Resources, Safety, Environmental Protection Regulations and design standards.
• Speaks and writes English and Spanish.
• Experience in chemical/formulations processes.
• Operational knowledge of PC’s (personal computers).
• Writing/verbal communication skills.
• Handling of hazardous waste materials.
