This position is based at BASF PETRONAS Chemicals' Sdn Bhd, a RM3.4 billion joint venture that combines the innovative strengths and capabilities of two well-established Fortune 500 companies, BASF SE (60%), the world's leading chemical company and PETRONAS (40%), Malaysia’s fully integrated energy company with a wide network of operations around the world. OBJECTIVES Ensure that the plants are operated in an optimized production condition. Evaluates measures and conditions for improvement in the production processes. Studies operational parameters and recommends implementation for further improvement. Coordinates the functions between production and technical competence for implementation of projects and plant modifications. Ensures that information flow of new implementations (projects, MOC, process parameter changes) are communicated to the shift. MAIN TASKS

• Develop monitoring programmes, spread sheets, and procedures how to implement and ensure compliance of plant operational parameters with design parameters.
• Monitor to ensure that plant operational conditions comply with agreed parameters that optimize the production operations to ensure optimum unit consumption rates, reduction in losses / emissions, high plant reliability and utilization, and maximize yields. Identify QA deviations and requirements to ensure accurate reflection of the parameters measured.
• Monitor the overall plant operation in close cooperation with the production staff in order to ensure maximum efficiency and high level of plant technical integrity is achieved within the department budget.
• Implement process training / communication programs for plant production staff in light of new or revised findings or project implementation. Also includes new information based on recent experience exchange with other BASF Group production units worldwide.
• Supervises Management of Change (MOC) documentation flow to ensure completion of the various approvals, implementations, safety review recommendations and document updates. Ensures information of such MOCs are cascaded down to production staff. Required to generate of new and revised procedures with the help of production staff for new MOCs. Similarly involved in capex improvement projects.
• Support the Senior Manager – Technology and Process Optimization (TPO) in formulating, implementing and reviewing the plant’s overall production parameters and strategies such that the established production targets are achieved.

Requirement

• Degree in chemical engineering with 6 years experience or more
• Experience in Chemical / product / material related transactions and accounting will be an added advantage
• Proactive, posses drive and commitment towards standard and performance for self
• Good supervisory and analytical skills
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skill and able to work under pressure
• Good proficiency of English, both spoken and written
