This position is based at BASF PETRONAS Chemicals' Sdn Bhd, a RM3.4 billion joint venture that combines the innovative strengths and capabilities of two well-established Fortune 500 companies, BASF SE (60%), the world's leading chemical company and PETRONAS (40%), Malaysia’s fully integrated energy company with a wide network of operations around the world. Objectives BASF PETRONAS Chemicals operates several chemical complexes at the Kuantan Verbund site. Our Center of Expertise E&I and Process Automation supports the site with a range of specialised services geared towards its requirements. We are looking for a Process Controls Engineer to sustain and optimize Process Controls applications Main Tasks In this position, you will be responsible for analyzing and tracking performance of control applications. You will identify and correct Process controls problems by analyzing root causes and recommending / implementing improvements. For this you will implement Process Controls and Advanced Process Controls applications in collaboration with regional and global BASF experts and various stakeholders. You will ensure the evolution of necessary knowledge by developing and facilitating user trainings. You will provide site support for process control projects teams, which will include assisting with developing project approval packages, participate in approval review meetings, developing packages for contractors/vendors and perform contractor selection Requirements

• PhD or Master Degree in Chemical / Process, Electrical Engineering.
• Solid knowledge of PID based real-time control system design methodology and best practices.
• Proficiency in Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
• Basic knowledge of the various types of pressure, level, temperature and flow instrumentation.
• Solid work experience in design, engineering, implementation and maintenance of process control and safety instrumented systems for chemical, petrochemical, natural gas and offshore facilities.
• Experience with instrumentation and electrical systems associated Process Control Systems.
• Strong communication, management and leadership skills
• Proactivity, drive & commitment towards standard & performance for self & team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
