Where the Chemistry Happens… This position is responsible for creating and managing the schedule for maintenance work orders to ensure effective and efficient field execution, and continually improving schedules via updates based upon feedback. Scheduling is the act of aligning available resources to the work order backlog and communicating it to relevant plant personnel. In addition, all service contracts and resulting finds will be managed by this role. This role will also support all other facets of the maintenance department as needed based on priority and daily commitments. evaluate the need for spare parts, and set-up storeroom items and assigning them to bill of materials.   • Schedule maintenance work through the utilization of SAP and spreadsheets.
  • Ensure each work center is scheduled at full capacity every day for internal BASF technicians, as well as external embedded contractors. Strive to schedule each work center’s available resources to 100% capacity for the next week, 60% capacity for the second week out, and 40% capacity for the third week out.
    • Production requirements, work priorities, and budgets must be considered when establishing the work schedule. Specifically, PM’s, corrective repairs, production support, plant improvements, cap-ex, and aged backlog in that order.
    • Schedules include external non-embedded contractors as well as capital project work.
  • Capture, document, and distribute the status of today’s scheduled work to communicate to operations, as well as tracking scheduling compliance.
  • Own all service contracts, including scheduling and coordinating activities, reviewing the report of findings, and implementing identified recommendations and repairs.
  • Actively communicate priorities at the Scheduling Meetings; develop agreed-upon priorities based on actual needs.
  • Publish daily and weekly schedules. Actively communicate the schedule to all affected resources.
  • Review the backlog with user status’ of awaiting parts, ready to schedule, and to a lesser extent, in planning. Clarify incomplete or unclear job plans to facilitate more effective scheduling and coordination of work. Group work orders and/or notifications together than can be scheduled and completed at the same time.
  • Understand and utilize the proper SAP user status codes to help facilitate proper scheduling of the work order.
  • Support the of creation job plans for the effective scheduling and execution of work.
  • Help create purchase requisitions and reservations for necessary materials, equipment, or services as needed.
  • Support the creation of spare parts inventory, bill of materials, functional locations, and task lists as needed.
  • Support the maintenance of equipment files and maintenance planning activities as needed.
  • Support the maintenance superintendent in determining adjustments to the schedule when emergency work arises. Help secure and expedite parts from vendors as needed.
  • Play leadership role in managing annual shutdowns and/or area shutdowns as scheduled.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local statutes, and BC requirements. These can include, but are not limited to, proper hazardous waste disposal, proper protective equipment compliance, Title V readings, and proper product labeling.
  • Wear necessary safety equipment and follow company-established Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures. Employees are responsible for understanding the importance of process safety as it applies to their jobs, and are responsible for following and contributing to the work process to achieve improvement in Company process safety and environmental performance.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • High School Diploma/Equivalent required; completion of applicable trade school program preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing organization required.
  • Ability to understand job planning for scheduling required.
  • Scheduling experience preferred
  • CMMS experience desired (SAP experience ideal).
  • Maintenance experience is a plus.
