Maintenance Superintendent (1701510)

Where the Chemistry Happens...

The role of the Maintenance Superintendent is to lead and provide oversight for the maintenance team as assigned. The function is to assure efficient and effective utilization of maintenance manpower, tools, and equipment. It is the primary interface for maintenance with the operations personnel. This position also obtains non-maintenance services required by operations.

Formula for Success: You Will...

  • Provides overall management and oversight of the maintenance department and work management process (MPI).
  • Responsible for supervising maintenance technicians, planners, scheduler, embedded contractors, and contracted work forces supporting maintenance activities.
  • Accountable for executing against the plan and schedule established of work orders generated from work requests. Immediately communicate any deviations.
  • Review work order feedback forms for accuracy/completeness and providing feedback to planner and scheduler regarding potential improvements to similar future work.
  • Eliminate unnecessary or redundant work and managing the backlog of approved work.
  • Supports and implements continuous improvements to the maintenance work processes in order to enhance plant availability and reduce the plant repair factor.
  • Identify and issue timely disciplinary action for attendance, job performance and/or non-compliance with plant/government regulations.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You...

  • The candidate must possess an engineering degree and have a minimum of 5+ years in manufacturing, maintenance preferred and 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Must have a detailed understanding of equipment and overall plant manufacturing processes.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and instrument equipment and their maintenance, mechanical integrity, and PM/PdM. Requires familiarity with maintenance programs, and work management processes (MPI, etc.), and best practices.
  • Experience with manufacturing reporting systems; SAP experience a plus.
  • Must be able to read piping & instrumentation drawings, engineering specifications & drawings, and vendor-supplied information.
  • Possession of analytical thinking, communication and interpersonal understanding, customer focus, entrepreneurial acting/initiative, team leadership/collaboration, work management, and conflict management.
