Where the Chemistry Happens…

We are seeking a Coatings Process Leader at the GM Lordstown facility.

Coatings Process Leader - GM (1704232) – Lordstown, OH

You will direct and lead the efforts of a BASF field service team at a customer assembly plant. You will support the sales of BASF products and services by monitoring the use of products in the account customer’s applications, responding to customer requirements, and enforcing product quality/performance specifications. You will support new product/application development and launches.

You will demonstrate the technical and professional expertise to enhance the reputation of BASF with the customer. You will monitor and control key performance indicators within product service environments to drive problem resolution and product improvement initiatives that are critical to customer performance expectations.

  • Lead, develop, and train the field service team on site.
  • Manage daily customer communications and conflict.
  • Select, hire, and develop talent in the field service team.
  • Drive the performance of BASF´s products and services.
  • Manage material forecasting and inventory management.
  • Support BASF product launches and optimizations.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 or more years of experience working with automotive OEMs on a technical level or relevant experience required; OR Associate’s degree and 12 or more years of experience working with automotive OEMs on a technical level or relevant experience.
  • Coatings experience required
  • Leadership experience (direct, indirect, or project management) required
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SAP.
  • Coatings knowledge including paint application, understanding of customer’s quality and performance requirements, defect identification, and launching of products and paint shops.
  • Problem identification, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution.
  • Leading, developing, and training of people and teams and strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Must be willing to work off-shift and weekends as necessary.
