Where the Chemistry Happens… This position is responsible for identifying customer needs, forecasting sales, and developing/maintaining relationships with key decision-makers and developmental clients to sell mobile emissions catalysts products, services, and technologies.   • Develop and tactically implement the business development strategy, with responsibility for budget planning and control for global key accounts.
  • Monitor market conditions, competitive activities, general economic conditions, and governmental, legislative, and regulatory matters.
  • Identify new business opportunities and the enhancement of existing customer relationships, market share, and profitability.
  • Collaborate with supply chain partners to conduct value chain mapping and VAVE proposals to the OEM market.
  • Project manage and oversee the new product launch process.
  • Provide sales forecasting/analysis/pricing and other business terms and key account management.
  • Manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
  • Represent BASF as Global Key account manager and cross functional Business Unit (BU) leader for designated accounts to translate customer’s future needs into an account roadmap and strategy.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in a technical discipline (Science, Engineering) and at least 8 years of sales/marketing or business management experience with diverse customer relationships; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Automotive, commercial vehicle, or agriculture/construction vehicle sales/marketing experience required.
  • Understanding of sales development and OEM specifications required.
  • Proven ability to identify business opportunities and develop appropriate strategies and relationships that deliver sales results within a diverse and challenging business climate required.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, influencing, and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with key decision-makers at all levels at both customers and internal management required.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking ability and ability to implement business plans. Must be able to develop account strategy and execute on annual business plan required
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time; primarily domestically, but with some international travel

Preferred

  • Knowledge of the Environmental Technologies product portfolio and market base would be considered a strong asset.
  • Experience in dealing with supply chain and operations to facilitate new product launch and scale-up is preferred.
