Description

BASF has been a committed partner to Greater China since 1885. With major investments in Nanjing, Shanghai and Chongqing, BASF is one of the largest foreign investors in the Chinese chemical industry, and maintains the BASF Asia Pacific Innovation Campus in Shanghai as a research and development hub for the Asia Pacific region.

Objectives: Develop and Implement an Intellectual Property (IP) strategy, aligned with Global, Regional, and Country strategies, supporting & protecting BASF’s brand and IP in the Chinese market. Investigate illegal activities, and implement measures of enforcement to mitigate. Main Task:

  • Monitoring Key trademarks on website and in the market;
  • Monitoring Key Patents on websites and in the market;
  • Monitoring infringements on B2B, B2C websites and in the market
  • Information screening and follow up to become useful clues
  • Establish good relationship with related authorities (ie. ICAMA, CCPIA, Customs, MIIT, NATESC, AIC & PSB etc.)
  • Communication and advocacy
  • Liason with Global Marketing and Global IP:
    • Be the "voice" of China; represent China in regular communication with Global
    • supporting documents for ongoing investigation on quick notice
    • support for preparation and conduct enforcement campaigns on trade-fairs (two annual Shanghai Fairs)
    • report new cases of potential category I / II to the team
    • report CropLife China Activities to the team
    • sample shipment (samples from China cases (from time to time) / samples from ongoing investigation
  • internet monitoring
    • monitoring of companies, which own patent applications, for which we would like to take action (anonymous)

Requirements:

  • Education: University Degree
  • Working Experience: Preferably at least 5 years working experience (2 years in multinational company); preferably within Agro industry
  • Technical & Professional Knowledge: Background knowledge on IP; IP management is preferred but not required. English proficiency is a must
