Our Global Strategic Marketing group is seeking a motivated marketing professional with demonstrated leadership skills to support the management and execution of the Global Herbicide Strategy. Global Marketing Manager, Herbicides (1702870) As a Global Marketing Manager, you will join a diversified marketing team that strives to maintain and grow a strong, profitable BASF Herbicide Business, and you will report to the Director of Global Strategic Marketing. Your responsibility will include managing several global active ingredients for crop protection products. You will also lead the long-term strategy development for your active ingredients, and identify new market and business opportunities. Formula for Success: You Will…

  • Ensure sustainable profitability and growth, optimize investments, and increase efficiency
  • Identify, evaluate, and lead cross functional initiatives to manage herbicide assets such as: IP strategy, cost reduction initiatives, in-licensing/out-licensing opportunities, etc.
  • Contribute to Cross-Functional or Crop teams focused on the development of integrated approaches to customers in the agricultural chemical market
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and performance tracking of the Global Herbicide Strategy
  • Interact and share best management practices with Regional Marketing, Regulatory, R&D, Manufacturing & Supply Chain, and Controlling colleagues across various cultures and countries globally
  • Establish and manage 3rd Party relationships
  • Work closely with Regional Marketing teams to maximize the opportunities for active ingredients in each of the regions
  • Participate in acquisition and divestment initiatives when requested

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Ag-Related Discipline (e.g: Biology, Agronomy, Chemistry, Soil Science, Weed Science, etc.) with 10+ years of total experience -OR- MS/MBA Degree in same with 8+ years of total experience – OR - PhD in same with 5+ years total experience)
  • 5+ years of experience within the Agricultural, Chemical or Seed Industries in a marketing, sales, or technical role, with demonstrated competency in strategic and analytical thinking
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating and work across organizational boundaries, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Required competencies include: customer focus, strategic and analytical thinking, marketing skills, and financial acumen, high degree of independence and self-motivation
  • Willing and able to travel internationally

  • MBA degree
  • 12+ years of work experience in an Agricultural related field in a marketing, sales, or technical role
  • 3+ years of experience directly working with Herbicides in a marketing, sales, or technical role.
  • Experience working professionally in a cross-cultural, global environment
  • Fluency in a second language
