Description
BASF started doing business in Japan in 1888. Activities cover four business segments including chemicals, performance products, functional materials & solutions and agricultural solutions. BASF maintains a strong research and development presence in Japan including the Yokohama Innovation Center (engineering plastics) and the Research and Development Laboratory and Application Technology Center for Battery Materials in Amagasaki.
Objectives of the Position

Lead development of business at regional and Global customers.

Get the application development information in the initial stage from regional and Global customers with making the broad connection with regional and Global customers

Make the strategy for regional and Global customers to clarify action plan for regional and Global customers.

Proceed business development and price negotiation for regional and Global customers involving global team members.

Main Tasks
Activity as Key account manager

Defines annual global budget (Volume, Net Sales, CM1)

Makes pricing decision for responsible customers

Defines, controls and tracks account plan for responsible customers

Leads contract negotiations
-
Drives relationship management with account to develop higher levels of contact (all functions)

Defines internal and external resources for Account
-
Manages domestic activity and supports regional/global activity for responsible customers

Provides marketing colleagues with customer level intelligence and feedback

Effective Non Conformance Management (NCM) by adequate resolution and closure of all NCM’s

Plan and implement the career development plan
Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position
- Education:
Bachelor in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymers or related fields
- Working Experience:
Minimum of 3 Years Experiences in Account Manager position or Technical service of Chemical products in Japanese Automotive Market
- Technical & Professional Knowledge:
- Strong technical background in Engineering or Scientific discipline.
- Effective Business Reporting / Communication
- Handling and customer management (claims, issues, specific requests, etc.)
- Understanding and experience in Thermoplastics or Polyurethane industry
