We are seeking a Regional Product Manager to function at of our Florham Park, NJ facility. Regional Product Manager (1703537) – Florham Park, NJ Formula for Success: You Will…

  • Pricing and Profitability
    • Hold Profit and Loss responsibility for the assigned product group.
    • Lead definition of target price levels in line with price bands set by Global Product Management.
    • Prepare pricing proposals and lead discussion around the annual bids for major accounts.
    • Support pricing and negotiation activities of sales team.
    • Continuously improve contribution margin for the product group (e.g., by optimizing and actively steering customer and product portfolio).
    • Conduct profitability analyses and monitors performance of product group (e.g., contribution margin, volume growth).
  • Planning and Reporting
    • Prepare and present monthly business report to Regional and Global Business Management.
    • Develop regional sales budget, align with all relevant stakeholders, and present to Regional Business Management.
    • Actively participate in regional S&OP meetings (e.g., forecasting, inventory management, aging stock) and provide input to Global Product Management.
    • Achieve operational excellence via accurate financial and APO forecasting.
    • Lead volume allocation to business segments based on profitability and consideration of strategic business development.
  • Product Portfolio
    • Manage and optimize portfolio on ongoing basis for the region, based on performance criteria.
    • Analyze and screen the market for new opportunities for the product group (e.g., applications, collaboration models).
    • Prepare product launch activities together with commercial marketing.
    • Gather market intelligence for the product portfolio, both regionally and globally (e.g., price development, market approach, capacity, cost).
  • Customer Interaction
    • Manage one of the top five Human Nutrition key accounts in North America

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of commercial experience.
  • Proven entrepreneurial spirit with strong sense of ownership and initiative.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize in a multitask environment.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of pricing and planning processes and techniques, business planning methodology, and product launch management is a plus
