Where the Chemistry Happens… Reporting to the Global Product Manager, you will represent the Plastic Additives regional business as the key interface with sales, customer care, supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, R&D, product stewardship and legal to successfully deliver business plan targets for the UV Absorbers, Flame Retardants and other Plastic Additives products in North America.   • Hold responsibility for regional development, implementation and management of Strategic Business Unit (SBU) strategies for the product portfolio (i.e., product positioning, business plan development).
  • Oversee regional product pricing and margin management (i.e., pricing strategy, costs analysis, budget planning).
  • Understand the regional market structure's economics, growth, trends, opportunities, value chain, customers, and competitive environment.
  • Guide the sales force relative to product pricing and positioning, contract negotiations, competitive/market information, crisis management, product allocation, and customer communications to align with SBU/product strategies.
  • Represent North American interests for product portfolio in global SBU teams, Global Operations Meeting (GOP), Regional Demand Validation Meeting, and Regional Sales Meetings.
  • Actively drive continuous improvements of cost, production, quality, supply chain, and service levels focused on competitiveness, financial performance, and operational excellence of North American assets.
  • Manage regional product portfolio, including launching, repositioning, quality, packaging, Management of Change (MOC), and withdrawal.
  • Coordinate with supply chain for operational strategies relative to demand planning, asset utilization, product allocation, shortage management, and inventory management.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Business Management, or a related discipline; advanced degree (e.g. MBA) is a plus.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Product Management, Marketing, Price Management, Controlling, Financial Management, or related work experience in a commercial/externally focused work environment.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills related to financial, market, and data analysis
  • Strong data analysis skills relative to creation, use, and continuous improvement of financial and operational tools to support role responsibilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, influencing, and networking skills for use in internal and external environments.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
  • Strong skills relative to project coordination, time management, multi-tasking, and delivering on commitments.
  • Experience in the Polymer industry, Additive technologies, and/or Light Stabilizer applications is advantageous
  • Experience in developing and implementing business strategies.
