Where the Chemistry Happens… This Supply Chain Planner role is primarily responsible for supporting Performance Materials (N-PMN) Distribution Management, as well as supporting third-party warehousing and transportation. This includes timely and accurate execution of transactional processes, freight rate quotations, data analysis, NCM investigations, supply chain optimization and day to day SC problem solving.

Transportation / Logistics Analyst III – Wyandotte, MI Formula for Success: You Will…

• Freight Spend Analysis – Create freight cost spending analysis tools using software such as Microsoft Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot, and Analysis Office to identify trends and spending anomalies with the goal of reducing overall transportation freight spending.
• Freight Rate Quoting - Provide rate quotes by mode as requested using rating software. Tasks may require working with corporate Transportation Purchasing to obtain rates.
• NCM Resolution – Involvement in high profile Supply Chain NCMs that require intervention to move to completion with robust, sustainable corrective actions. Will require the coordination of NCM meetings with key stakeholders to ensure the NCM is within thre goal of closing SCM NCMs within 30 days.
• Supply Chain Optimization - Through data analysis, identify freight savings opportunities within the PM Supply Chain. This function may require communication with the Transportation Command Center, Product Management, Customer Care, and Corporate Transportation Purchasing.
• Support special projects that may involve significant contact and relationship building activities with transportation and distribution companies.
• Day to Day Transportation Problem Solving – Drive solutions of daily transportation & distribution issues. Requires the ability to think and act quickly while interfacing with internal BASF functional areas as well as carriers and warehouse personnel.
• Delivery Reliability Data Analysis - Create data analysis tools that can identify areas of deficiencies in Delivery Reliability. Skills should include the ability to pull, manage and organize very large amounts of data and interpret the results in a way that can lead to improvements in KPI’s. Will require interfacing with internal and external colleagues with the goal of improving the customer experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field and/or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related Supply Chain, Transportation, or Customer Care function.
