  • Provide global subject matter expert in site logistics operations: intra site logistics, bulk/packed (trans)loading, fixed and mobile storage (e.g. tanks)
  • Create regional transparency of improvement activities/initiatives and assist with leveraging the experts to support NA site logistics needs.
  • Utilize expertise to support continuous improvements in site logistics to enable, safety, compliance, growth, savings and cost effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
  • Support the transformation within complex SLO end-to-end processes in a disruptive and rapidly evolving environment (e.g. digitization, industry 4.0, etc).
  • Ensure the leveraging of best practices across other sites, the Global CoE and BASF strategy.
  • Communicate & integrate topics of future interest/developments to Global CoE and vice versa.
    • Represent the Global site logistics operations (SLO) Center of Expertise (CoE) in the North America (NA) region and report to the Global CoE.
    • Be the primary Global CoE contact for the North America Site Logistics Lead, and serve as a member of the North America site logistics community.
    • Facilitate necessary changes of the (process & IT) interfaces between SLO operations and BASF customers, Business Units, external logistics providers, functional partners, and shared services.
    • Coordinate with the regional & disciplinary SLO leader on optimization projects and expertise needs of the North American region.
    • Support the development of new and innovative improvement solutions for end-to-end processes in SLO.
    • Support the global strategical development of SLO to secure and provide the required expertise with the focus on functional excellence.
    • Provide briefs/de-briefs with Global CoE about regional projects. Perform site visits on request. Participate in topic-related events.
    • Utilize global subject matter expertise to determine and prioritize solutions
    • Collect feedback on general performance of functional experts and Global CoE.
  • Support the North America Site Logistics Lead to set up and manage the site logistics community.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience related to this job (e g Logistics, SCM, or Production) OR a minimum of 10 years of experience related to this job (e g Logistics, SCM or Production) in lieu of a degree.
  • Understanding of BASF supply chain and logistics end-to-end processes and IT landscape (SAP and other solutions).
  • Applied experience in end-to-end site logistics operations (transportation, bulk/packed loading, and storage) in fixed and mobile assets.
  • Prior experience in applying continuous improvement and project management methodologies.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation skills, and conflict management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving thinking.
  • A proactive and self-motivated professional with a strong Initiative to succeed.
  • Solid customer and service-oriented behavior.
  • Experience working on global teams.
