BASF started doing business in Japan in 1888. Activities cover four business segments including chemicals, performance products, functional materials & solutions and agricultural solutions. BASF maintains a strong research and development presence in Japan including the Yokohama Innovation Center (engineering plastics) and the Research and Development Laboratory and Application Technology Center for Battery Materials in Amagasaki. Monitoring Site Logistics • Monitor “actual” site logistics activities and facilities in Totsuka, and maintain its safety and quality • Make sure the site logistics activities follow according to internal guidelines and regulations EHS/QM Improvement for site logistics activities • Improve EHS, quality and efficiency of site logistics activities • Assess risks within the site logistics activities and propose actions to minimize risks • Monitor and improve the quality of service provided by site logistics service provider Coordination and Follow Up of the proposals and improvements within the site logistics activities • Make sure planned schedule for improvements and risk management are executed within the defined budget. • Analyze result of improvements and risk management and report to the manager. Main Tasks

Monitoring Site Logistics • Monitor and understand status of site logistics activities and report to the manager and other related party if required • Check day-to-day operations and correct/improve the logistics operations at spot (loading/unloading operations, warehousing) • Being daily contact window for site logistics service provider and monitor its service • Attend regular meeting with the service provider • Handling any issue regarding to storage facilities operated by the service provider (especially in case of emergency) • Be involved tendering activities lead by logistics procurement team • Provide business requirements together with other members regarding to site logistics to logistics procurement team • In accordance with the statutory and BASF internal EHS requirements, develop and implement the relevant EHS policies and procedures in the responsible areas together with other members • Handling any issue regarding to storage facilities operated by the service provider (especially in case of emergency) Improvement and risk management • Propose any EHS/QM/OpEx improvements related to the site logistics activities with implementation plan and schedule with cost estimation and benefits to the managers for approval. • Analyze any risk within the site logistics activities and propose actions to mitigate or avoid the risk with implementation plan and schedule with cost estimation and benefits to the managers for approval. Others • Attend and contribute to safety patrol as site logistics responsible • Be a member of SPEED (Quality Incident Investigation Team) Mandatory license • Hazardous Material controller (危険物取扱者2類、4類、5類) Preferred eligibility requirements • Health supervisor (class 1)/第一種衛生管理者 • English (>TOEIC 650) Following is the related operational tasks. Work jointly with other members to realize. 1. Operational Excellence (OpEx) • Conduct and improve efficiency together with manager and site-OpEx coordinator such as: - BSB (BASF Site Benchmarking) - LEAN - Idle capacity reduction - Visual Management - 5S (give professional guidance to LSP) - Mt. Fuji (Totsuka Paint Plant OpEx program) if required - Site Sustainability Project related to site logistics 2. Investment Project • Propose investment plan to improve efficiency, safety, quality and business needs and asset conditions • Attend technical review (with EC regional/global experts, if necessary) • Assist Commission paper preparation for investment project for approval 3. Maintenance (logistics assets) • Keep assets in good shape • Propose and monitor regular maintenance program with Site Engineering & Maintenance • Propose necessary maintenance budget based on the asset condition 4. EHS/QM activity • RC implementation (5S, gate control, TDS, etc.) • MOC/SHE Review implementation • Incident reporting / Conduct follow up action on logistics incident • Safety Patrol • Implementation of ISO’s (ISO9001/14001) activities • Crater Prevention Program 5. Other • Physical support to supply chain for inventory-taking (mainly through LSP) • Be a member of Incident Investigation Team in case of logistics accident/incident. Countermeasures to be incorporated into daily operation Minimum Education and Qualification Required forthe Position

  • Education: Bachelor's Degrees is required.
  • Working Experience: 1~3 years in Site Logistics or EHS or Engineering and Maintenance or Procurement or production, especially site logistics, department
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel / PowerPoint are also required.
  • Technical & Professional Knowledge: at least few of them are required; Site Logistics knowledge, EHS knowledge, Engineering and Maintenance knowledge, Logistics, Service Provider Management,
  • Required Skills; business level English, ability to analyze operations, communication skills
