Where the Chemistry Happens…

We are looking for a Physical Distribution Specialist for our Research Triangle Park, North Carolina site. BASF: Create Chemistry with the Agricultural Products Division

Formula for Success: You Will…

  • Coordinate, support and/or facilitate daily transportation needs as driven by customer or internal demands for assigned products, plants, warehouses and bulk terminals.
  • Provide least cost transportation expense commensurate with service required.
  • Work with the Transportation Corporate Center platform to handle all transfers and expedites.
  • Manage and respond in a timely manner to resolve non-conformances and issues
  • Process regional freight invoices that were missing proper coding in a timely fashion.
  • Nurture relationships with the BASF Corp platform, third party warehouses, production sites and internal supply chain sub-departments.
  • Ensure that potential external industry, transportation, regulatory, risks are communicated in advance to allow advance contingency planning.
  • Professionally manage logistics and/or supply chain projects that focus on developing creative supply chain/physical distribution practices.
  • Support the monthly development of the Logistics KPI report and help identify cost/performance improvements
  • Facilitate a monthly supply chain planning meeting to ensure supply chain execution between U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico.
  • Perform deep-dive trend analysis on distribution non-conformances and provide recommendations for a successful path forward.
  • Provide Agricultural Products division sites with logistical support in the areas of inventory management, SAP and FIFRA regulations

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…

  • BA/BS degree in Supply Chain or related field with 4+ years’ work experience to include 2 years supply chain or physical distribution/order fulfillment experience.
  • Strong SAP or equivalent systems skills.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of supply chain operations concepts.
  • Strong customer focus and the ability to identify process enhancement opportunities.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, collaborative and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage changing or conflicting priorities.

What we would also like to see…

  • BA/BS degree in Supply Chain or related field with 7+ years’ work experience to include 4 years supply chain or physical distribution/order fulfillment experience.
  • Direct agricultural or related industry product experience.
  • Execution oriented with strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven organizational skills and the ability to multi task.
  • Strong attention to detail and business acumen to communicate performance indicators to management concisely.
  • Ability to maneuver and/or develop reports from Business Warehouse reporting systems.
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic self-starter that can work with limited supervision.
