Where the Chemistry Happens… As a member of the North America Petrochemicals Supply Chain team, you will be responsible for the master production scheduling and the execution of the strategic plan for the BASF Acrylic Monomers and Oxo Alcohols business in North America. This includes developing and leading the finished goods Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process in alignment with the commercial targets of the business. You will work closely with the Commercial, Operations, and Finance Teams responsible for the Acrylics monomers business.   • Lead the supply planning portion of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process for the Acrylic monomers business unit, which feeds into the overall planning process for the business.
  • Balance the finished goods inventory in North America and establish monthly production schedules for operating facilities.
  • Identify, communicate, and rectify all demand/supply imbalances and required production schedule changes.
  • Monitor plant adherences to production schedules and initiate actions to help achieve targets.
  • Establish and maintain product inventory levels throughout the supply chain consistent with the business inventory targets and required customer service level agreements (SLA).
  • Communicate needs for imported and swap volumes to rectify supply imbalances.
  • Coordinate and execute swap and exchange activity with trading partners.
  • Identify supply chain continuous improvement projects to optimize inventory, improve cycle times, and identify tolling opportunities, and lead teams to address these opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain scheduling master data in SAP (e.g., BOMs, Routings, Work Centers, Lead Times, Safety Stock, Lot Sizes) to generate planned orders.
  • Manage startup of new third-party logistics facilities which include, but are not limited to, full SAP setup, logistics, and article extensions.
  • Serve as the Material Master Data Process and Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) expert for the North American Petrochemicals business.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience (e.g., Customer Care, Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, Production).
  • Strong SAP/ERP skills, with knowledge of Supply Network Planning tools and systems preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
  • Highly-motivated, entrepreneurial, and enthusiastic self-starter with strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels within the organization and with external partners.
  • Ability to effectively lead projects and to develop improvement ideas.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel.
  • APICS CPIM certification or in process is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Petrochemical industry value chain is a plus.
  • Experience with various modes of bulk transportation, including marine (deep tank/barge), rail, and bulk liquid truck is desired.
