We are seeking to hire a Supply Chain Planner who will be responsible for managing all processes and systems used for supply management of a given portfolio of imported products. Understanding and adhering to contract obligations, preparing plans for BASF required production, and ensuring supply and demand are aligned with plans and capabilities of the sites are key responsibilities of the role. The position requires extensive collaboration with Customer Care, Logistics, Product Management, Global Source partners, and Procurement (as needed).   • Manage supply and inventory balance for assigned portfolio of imported materials.
  • Oversee replenishment of products using netted demand in support of inventory targets and delivery reliability goals.
  • Monitor orders, stock status, and MRP exception messages in SAP, ensuring products are available to support forecasts and business plans.
  • Interface with Customer Care regarding available to promise and backorders.
  • Identify, negotiate, and bring to resolution any demand/supply imbalances working with Product Management and Global Supply partners (or Procurement, if applicable)
  • Manage inventory levels throughout the Supply Chain, consistent with targets.
  • Identify and manage dysfunctional inventories. Recommend and pursue appropriate disposition.
  • Drive planning improvements to prevent development of dysfunctional inventory.
  • Analyze KPI trends to identify areas of opportunity and implement improvement where applicable.
  • Manage and pro-actively audit master data in SAP (R3 and SNP), including purchasing agreements, ATP, and article extensions.
  • Lead regional- and global-level supply chain optimization efforts and actively participate in the S&OP efforts.
  • Manage global and regional allocation of key products when required, including regular collaboration with global colleagues and Joint Venture partners to ensure adequate supply to customers.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Supply Chain (strongly preferred) or a business-related field (e.g., Customer Care, Procurement, Operations, Production).
  • SAP or other MRP experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel (preferred), Access, or Tableau.
  • Execution-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience in driving innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to make value-added contributions in cross-functional project teams.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, collaborative, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, strong analytical thinking capability, proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
