Description

BASF Shared Services Center Kuala Lumpur, was established in 2005. Located in Kuala Lumpur, the shared services center has 620 employees and provides functional services in the areas of Finance, Controlling, Information Services, Human Resources, Environment, Health & Safety, Procurement and Import-Export Order Management Services to BASF companies and affiliates in 16 countries across the Asia Pacific region. BASF has three other shared services centers located in Berlin and Ludwigshafen in Germany and in Montevideo, Uruguay, that cover Europe and the Americas.

Objectives

• Effectively manage, supervise and support the analysts to deliver services to BASF group companies. Ensuring that services are delivered in accordance with established processes and work procedures and in compliance with BASF policies, ISO, Financial Reporting Compliance (FRC) and local company legal and statutory requirements.
• Ensure that service timelines and service quality are met in the delivery of Accounts Receivable services.
• Coach and develop the analysts and Senior Analysts to meet service standards expected through structured training and on the job coaching.

Job Description

• Provide process and systems support to the Accounts Receivable team by monitoring the processes, ensuring quality in terms of accuracy, completeness and timeliness on a daily basis.
• Provide process transaction support
• Review and monitor the work performed by Analysts and Senior Analysts as per the predefined process description on a regular and random basis.
• Support Senior Manager to meet objectives and set targets for the team by providing an adequate guidance and supervision to team members performing the functional tasks
• Participate in Global Finance Transformation (GFT) initiatives in Accounts Receivable across Asia Pacific region
• Manage AR mailbox and AHD ticket. Identify queries and assign to relevant Analyst.
• Guide the team members to resolve the queries/issues.
• Assess and resolve the complicated issues/queries on an exceptional basis in liaison with the BASF business units and local companies on Accounts Receivable

Requirements

Education:

• University degree in accounting or business administration
• Preferably Chartered or Certified Professional Accountant or Member of MIA

Working Experience:

• More than 7 years experience in accounts receivable, treasury or other accounting function including 2 to 3 years experience supervising team members

Technical & Professional Knowledge:

• In-depth knowledge and understanding of Accounts Receivable and other accounting functions.
• Experience in SAP system or other ERP system
• Knowledge and experience of MS office tools
• Communications skills are important to develop and establish cooperation and rapport with users at working levels and of different nationalities
• Proficiency in English with good communication skills.
