Description

Located in Hong Kong, BASF’s regional headquarters oversees more than 16,000 employees at about 100 sites across Asia Pacific. In addition to regional business units, Hong Kong office also houses regional functional units including Corporate Affairs, Finance and Controlling, Human Resources, Management Consulting, Procurement and Supply Chain Services. Objectives of the Position Reporting to Senior Manager, Regional Controlling, Asia Pacific, he/ she is expected to

  • Achieve a high level of transparency of fixed cost development in Asia Pacific for Functional, sub-regional and Business units
  • Advise independently to regional senior management for any irregular cost development and identify appropriate measures for costs improvement

Job Responsibilities Cost Management

  • Monitoring the cost trends and analyse cost structures and drivers in Asia Pacific for all Functional and Business units
  • Highlighting to regional management any irregular cost developments and help them to take appropriated actions
  • Preparing a cost overview in the management report and perform ad-hoc cost analysis
  • Taking charge in knowledge management including regular best practise sharing, documentation and archiving, Q&A session & the Cost Management home page
  • Our global Cost Business Warehouse (COINS). As regional application owner, you support the end users and interfaces with all stakeholders

CAPEX Management

  • Monitoring and reporting of Capex Developments, forecasting and more
  • Managing the CAPEX planning for all functional units
  • Developing controlling role for overall CAPEX management

Functional Controlling for Corporate Communication

  • Corporate Communications, acting as functional controller for regular cost reporting, budget and forecast as well as ad-hoc cost analysis

Requirements

  • Degree in economics, accounting, business management or related disciplines
  • At least 7 years’ work experience in accounting or controlling
  • Regional exposure is preferred but not a must
  • Good knowledge in Microsoft applications, Cost management, Business warehouse application & SAP
  • Ability to lead a user community with a friendly and has positive attitude
  • Excellent communications skills and fluent in spoken English
