  • Design, write, and debug software for various technology platforms using a variety of programming languages and tools. Software development and support requirements include high-level user interface software on desktop PCs, instrumentation communications, and system interactions with low level code. Developed software is designed to monitor and configure optical thermometers, is field serviceable, and is customized to customer specifications.
  • Maintain, enhance, and debug existing product software to meet business objectives.
  • Design, write, and debug new software to meet new business development activities.
  • Communicate with internal/external customers to support and develop software based on their specific needs/issues.
  • Coordinate and drive software testing resources to complete required quality testing of new software for commercial release.
  • As part of new product development team, provide guidance for software requirements.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor’s degree in required in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience with software development or equivalent educational experience; a minimum of 2 years of experience with instrumentation communication protocols/software.
  • Experience developing software to collect, process, and output real-time data.
  • Working knowledge of Python or C++ required; Delphi expertise is desirable.
  • Instrumentation communication protocols (e.g., Modbus RTU, TCP, Profibus) preferred.
  • Instrumentation interfaces including RS-232, RS-485 multi-drop, Ethernet, and USB is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, self-driven, and highly reliable.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to report status and progress on projects to management team.
  • Ability to work well as a team member and/or independently.
