Where the Chemistry Happens… This entity is responsible for managing and maintaining BASF’s IS Application landscape. In case of incident, it ensures restoring normal application services as quickly as possible while minimizing adverse impact on operations including problem management, change management (e.g., small business requests), and continuous service improvement (CSI). This entity ensures global integration of all services in the delivery network including technical gate-keeping, identifying/controlling/recording/reporting/auditing/verifying Configuration Items (CIs), including versions, baselines, constituent components, their attributes, relationships, and hierarchies.   • Process complex requirements and changes.
  • Provide consulting and customer support.
  • Support all System Engineer levels on the team.
  • Plan, install, configure, and operate complex IT systems (HW/SW).
  • Manage customer projects and/or international subprojects.
  • Be responsible for business-oriented and operative management of external service providers.
  • Design, Introduce, and optimize global operational processes.
  • Perform quality assurance and documentation of system changes.
  • Develop technical concepts and delivery models.
  • Hold accountability for execution of reports, cost controlling, and management.
  • Execute service documentation, design, and planning.
  • Ensure knowledge building and transfer within the IS Community.
  • Function as service owner for global services.
  • On-call duty and availability corresponding to existing SLA agreements.
  • Monitor compliance with SLAs, KPIs, and OLAs.
  • Hold cost center responsibility.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Information Technology.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in technical training in the IT sector (e.g., IT systems integration specialist FISY) in various areas supporting integration activities, or completed vocational training in a technical career (preferably information technologies, telecommunications technologies, process control technology, communication technologies in various areas or IT project management methods analogous to PM2)
  • Additional qualification is desirable (e.g., Microsoft, ITIL, network certifications, operational vendor management).
  • Strong team skills; confident manner in cross-cultural environments; awareness for organization.
  • Knowledge of BASF IT Services-internal ticket processing systems preferred; knowledge of heterogeneous technologies.
  • Customer orientation; highly innovation-oriented; good strategic thinking; positive work attitude.
  • Highly developed argumentation skills.
  • Performance under stress; able to work independently; ability to gain competence in new assignment areas quickly and independently.
