Where the Chemistry Happens… The IS Security Risk Manager is the owner of the IS security risk management process and is responsible for determining security compliance for an application or service. This includes reviewing all pertinent documents while working with project managers, application owners, and Security colleagues to ascertain scope and orchestrate support of all IS Security Risk Assessment needs. S/he will also ensure the existing policy framework is current and applicable, and that the IS Security Risk Management process is aligned with other risk management processes. The IS Security Risk Manager is the first contact to address escalations within the IS Security Risk Management Process, and is responsible for communicating the results of IS Risk Assessments, with direction on mitigation strategies or further steps towards risk acceptance (exception).   • Provide analysis and evaluation of risks.
  • Identify knock-on effects, dependencies, cumulative risks, and root cause.
  • Recommend risk treatment plans and monitor their implementation.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor's degree is required; a degree in Business Administration, Information Systems or related discipline is preferred, combined with at least 5 years of experience in IT, IT Security, and/or IT Risk Management; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain and communicate complex risks and findings to various stakeholders within BASF.
  • Experience in project management delivery and methodologies.
  • Excellent relationship building skills; ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Strong knowledge of and ability to apply Risk analyses and evaluation, good practice and standard methods.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of cloud technology preferred.
  • Knowledge in business process modelling.
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation is a plus.
