The People Consulting Team provides differentiated HR solutions to BASF business and functional units, including manufacturing sites. The team is responsible for the execution of consulting solutions across the following areas: Talent, Leadership, Organization Development, Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Engagement, Culture and Change Management. The team acts as an internal consulting team, and the workload is determined by the annual demand plan generated by the strategic contracting process with BASF business and functional units. The team is also responsible to manage and respond appropriately to just-in-time demand.

The role of People Consultant is responsible to:

Plan, manage and deliver unit-or site-specific consulting projects, in a highly self-directed environment, which may cover one or more of the following:

• M+A/Divestiture/Site Closures
• Reorganization/Restructure/Organization Redesign
• OD Interventions/Change Management/Engagement
• Analytics unit/site specific
• Other tailored HR programs specific to business need

Scope and ‘solution’ projects with clients.

Respond to project requests by performing root cause and needs analyses with internal clients, and develop approaches and methodologies for addressing client needs. Develop and document project scope, resourcing, budget, and timeline; and create project management tools to ensure successful execution of the project (e.g., project plan including milestones, metrics, KPIs, list of deliverables, status reporting, budgets etc.)

Lead the execution of projects.

Lead delivery of consulting projects for business and functional stakeholders. Project delivery will be largely self-directed and the People Consultant must be comfortable operating in a virtual environment and managing a project from conception through to completion. The People Consultant may work with and/or direct the work of others across career levels to complete projects. It will be critical for the People Consultant to ensure that project outcomes are aligned with the strategic objectives of the business unit objectives. The People Consultant will work independently to complete project objectives and tasks, and also collaborate as necessary across the organization with expert resources within a CoE and potentially external consultants. The People Consultant will interface directly with all levels of colleagues in BASF, and may present project results to various stakeholders including managers, employees and executives (e.g., Executive Steering Committees, Senior Leadership, etc.)

Identify ways to enhance client knowledge.

During the execution of the various projects, the People Consultant should strive to identify ways to enhance the client’s knowledge, skillset, and process awareness to make sure the expected benefits are achieved and sustained after the project is completed. This may include methodologies for the client to measure the impacts and benefits of the project after execution.

Develop and continuously improve consulting offers.

Develop and/or enhance the People Consulting Team portfolio of consulting solutions to ensure it remains relevant and aligned with the needs of our clients. This may require working collaboratively with team members and colleagues across the HR function (e.g., COEs), and also maintaining awareness of market best practices.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Minimum Qualifications / Requirements:

The People Consulting Team is comprised of various domains and levels of expertise.

• 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas is required: Human Capital Strategy; Workforce Analytics, Organization Development and Design, M+A HR integration including systems integration, Change Management.
• Demonstrated project/program management experience is required.
• Must be willing and able to travel up to 25 - 40%, largely regional which may include overnight travel.
• Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field, or in Human Resources; MBA or MA preferred.
• Strong strategic and analytical thinking skills and the ability to successfully navigate through ambiguity required. Ability to strongly execute in a highly self-directed, team based environment
• Manage and direct the work of others to complete project objectives, including team members, peers, clients, executive and external resources
• Strong written and verbal communications required, including ability to influence and impact at senior and executive levels within an organization.
• Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships with stakeholders at all career levels across the organization

Location: People Consultant work locations are flexible, but must be located within a reasonable driving distance to a major airport. People Consultants may choose to work from a virtual home office, or they may choose to work from one of BASF’s HR work locations.
