Manager, Total Rewards/ Total Compelling Offer (1703916) - Florham Park, NJ Reporting to the Vice President of Total Rewards & Corporate HR Services, the Total Rewards Manager acts as a strategic human resources leader and critical connector across the North American HR team and broader organization. The Manager leverages employee feedback as well as data from internal and external sources to identify trends and best practices in total rewards. The role works to ensure that BASF has the right mix of offerings to support a diverse base of employees and to differentiate the Company as an employer of choice and great place to work. The Ambassador thinks and acts strategically, collaborating across organization lines with the various HR Centers of Excellence and business leaders to drive an integrated approach to total rewards while assuring a consistent, compelling and rewarding employee experience, which ultimately drives retention, engagement and top line business growth.   • Responsible for developing, implementing and communicating an integrated, holistic total rewards strategy for BASF. Leveraging data from internal and external sources, the Ambassador identifies trends and uncovers opportunities to continually improve current programs while ensuring that BASF has the optimal portfolio of programs and benefits satisfy the needs of the Company’s current and future workforce.
  • Analyze the market competitiveness and cost-effectiveness of the programs and activities that make up the Company’s Compelling Total Offer (CTO) to ensure they are competitive, integrated, value-adding, sustainable, and scalable, and that they positively impact the long-term performance of the organization.
  • Think and act strategically, this role collaborates across organization lines, consults the various HR COEs, and influences peers and others within and beyond the HR organization to align on key projects.
  • Oversee key signature programs, including the Company’s wellness, flexible work and recognition programs. This role is also responsible for developing, recommending and implementing creative and cost-effective new or modified plans and policies that provide a competitive employee value proposition and are sound business decisions for the Company.
  • Collaborate with key leaders throughout the organization to ensure alignment with and impact on overall business strategy; collaborates with COE leaders, Strategic HR Business/Manufacturing Advisors (representing the Point of View of the BU/Functional Units), and other HR leaders to ensure the efficient and effective integration and implementation of new and existing offerings to meet the organization’s people strategy objectives.
  • Work closely with the Manager, HR Communications to develop and carry out effective Total Rewards communication strategies and campaigns that educate and empower employees to act on their total offer, while ensuring an appropriate balance to communication and a ‘One Voice’ approach.
  • Serve as a thought partner to the Manager, Employer Branding & Talent Sourcing in the development of our compelling employer branding strategies, content, and marketing campaigns that differentiate BASF as an employer of choice in the talent marketplace.
  • Lead the coordination and implementation of BASF’s CTO globally, advising and consulting with total rewards colleagues in other regions to effectively implement you@BASF and ensure its long-term sustainability; liaises with global counterparts within the Best Team / Employer Value Proposition (EVP) work stream to ensure alignment and overall integration of the total offer into all activities.
  • Manage work flows and deadlines; performs short- and long-term planning; makes policy and program recommendations; and recommends and initiates new approaches, policies and procedures to support continuous improvement.
  • Represent the organization with external parties from a position of leadership, positioning BASF a leader in total rewards. Manages vendor and consultant relationships, contracts, and projects.
  • Lead a team of two professionals (Total Rewards Manager and Total Rewards Analyst) to deliver on all strategic and operational objectives.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years progressive professional experience in HR.
  • Demonstrable capability of developing a Total Rewards Strategy leveraging state-of-the-art thinking and practices, management and coordination with the ability and willingness to dive deep and rollup up one’s sleeves to drive excellence in implementation.
  • Ability to interact easily across all levels within the organization; tactful; mature; flexible. High level of collaboration and influencing skills. Strong planning, organization, delegation and decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrable ability to achieve goals through influencing, partnering and developing productive relationships with peers, leaders and client groups. Self-starter with a proactive and inquisitive nature who can anticipate and preempt problems.
  • Systems thinking approach to collaboration and implementation with a sustainability-oriented mindset.
  • Prior experience implementing corporate programs in a COE environment a plus.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate actions and build relationships with all organizational levels.
  • Ability to prepare and present materials in a clear and concise manner providing experiential value.
  • Ability to plan, design, communicate, and administer across the organization.
  • High energy and drive to create an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Strong business acumen with deep understanding of how organizations work with ability to anticipate possible impacts and ramifications of strategies and tactics.
