Where the Chemistry Happens… We are seeking a Regulatory Product Steward I to support our North American Regulatory Managers and Product Registrations. The position will report to the Manager, Regulatory Strategy and Stewardship, North America, and will be based in Research Triangle Park, NC. Regulatory Product Steward I (1704315) – RTP, NC As the Regulatory Product Steward, you will be responsible for providing regulatory stewardship expertise and strategic guidance related to the development of new active ingredients and maintenance of current BASF agricultural product registrations for North America. Formula for Success: You Will…

  • Evaluate regulatory risks, issues, and human exposure concerns, which will require stewardship strategy and plans
  • Work with product development teams to develop a plan for stewardship actions, as well as materials required for key products
  • Work closely with federal and state registration managers, crop technical group, Pest & Specialty Solutions (P&SS) technical group, and other functional groups
  • As needed, apply working knowledge of various exposure models in the development of the stewardship plan

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…

  • PhD in Environmental Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Field with 8+ years of Ag-Chem industry experience – OR – MS in same with 10+ years of Ag-Chem industry experience – OR – BS in same with 12+ years of Ag-Chem industry experience
  • Experience developing product stewardship strategies and plans
  • Good understanding of Agricultural Chemical development and regulatory processes
  • Regulatory knowledge of Environmental and Human Risk assessment processes
  • Experience leading projects

  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills; Strong leadership skills, negotiation, and conflict resolution
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) to work closely with others in team environment, and for negotiation with regulatory authorities
