Description

BASF Shared Services Center Kuala Lumpur, was established in 2005. Located in Kuala Lumpur, the shared services center has 620 employees and provides functional services in the areas of Finance, Controlling, Information Services, Human Resources, Environment, Health & Safety, Procurement and Import-Export Order Management Services to BASF companies and affiliates in 16 countries across the Asia Pacific region. BASF has three other shared services centers located in Berlin and Ludwigshafen in Germany and in Montevideo, Uruguay, that cover Europe and the Americas.

Objectives

• Work as regional expert on BASF EHS systems to ensure the legal regulation compliance to local regulatory requirement
• Regional support and services for country experts to adapt, optimize and implement processes in line with corporate BASF Guidelines as necessary
• Promote regional harmonization of country processes in line with BASF’s corporate guidelines and standards

Job Description

• Be part of regional expert community
• Lead regional EHS systems strategy and SAP change management in collaboration with Global Process Expert (GPEX) in Germany and stakeholders in Asia Pacific countries
• Coordinate with stakeholders such as country expert, supply chain, technical experts to support the effective implementation of BASF EHS systems through SAP system
• Coordinate regional Integration projects as well as merger and acquisition projects related to EHS systems
• Monitoring the development and implementation of required processes within countries
• Ensure successful roll-out of globally defined process templates and change requests
• Identify and drive sustainable improvement initiatives for process improvement based on local country and business requirement
• Monitor emerging regulations and changes in existing regulations in the region, coordinate and work with various stakeholders for relevant advocacy activities or support execution in the country
• Provide training to new country expert and new user for related BASF EHS SAP system topics

Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor degree in scientific area, preferably in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related Science discipline

Working Experience:

• 3-5 years in chemical regulation or relevant work experience in Environment, Health and Safety trade control

• Knowledge in Product Safety and Stewardship is an advantage

Technical & Professional Knowledge:

• Sound knowledge and experience in Chemistry, or SAP application in supply chain processes are highly preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office is preferred
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Must have high sense of responsibility and details oriented
• Proactive and able to work under pressure and independently
