Where the Chemistry Happens… The Engineering Department in Wyandotte, MI executes capital investment projects at the Wyandotte site. The Project Manager (Engineer l) is the focal point of responsibility, authority, and accountability of these capital investments under the direct guidance of a senior project manager. The successful candidate for this position must be a results-oriented leader who can build strong working relationships and function effectively at all levels of the organization.   • Achieve project objectives which include functionality, cost, and schedule.
  • Maintain focus on safety in the development of project concept and during execution.
  • Provide leadership to the project team which includes engineering, procurement, and construction.
  • Develop execution and contracting strategies to effectively meet objectives.
  • Oversee Change Management processes and providing cost and schedule control.
  • Ensure compliance with all BASF policies, procedures, and technical standards.
  • Champion the scope development process to ensure completeness of basic engineering and seeks opportunities for added value through application of Value Improving Practices.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and 2 or more years of degreed engineering experience in a chemical / petrochemical or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Outstanding technical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP system is desirable.
