Description

Objectives: He/She is responsible for technical expertise support for the project tasks in Advanced Process Control in different project phases. He/She is providing expertise support in identification, implementation & maintaining Advanced Process Control applications He/She is working as expert to support production sites/Business units within AP for the Advanced Process Control solutions and consultancy He/she is responsible for sustanable expertise development in the area of Process Control. Main Task:

  • Provide expertise in the functional design and implementation of process automation applications, such as process control strategies, Human-Machine-Interface design, Manufacturing Execution System applications and KPI development
  • Responsible to identify and develop cost/benefit analysis for potential new projects. Be in charge for functional, on time and within budget technical planning and related technical processing.
  • Analyze and track performance. Identify and correct problems to ensure sustain Advanced Process Control application implementation.
  • Implement Process Control applications, which will include developing the design, performing detailed engineering actvities,collaboration with various stakeholders to implement the applications
  • Responsible for develop and provide training based on concepts, usage, tunning,.. related to the area of Advanced Process Control applications
  • Troubleshoot process control problems. Identify causes and make recommendations for improvements and/or implement improvements
  • Provide leadership on project teams, which will include assisting with developing project approval packages, participate in approval review meetings, developing packages for contractors/vendors and perform contractractor selection. Monitor and supervise suppliers,promotes and uses continuing relationships with process control suppliers to obtain total cost of ownership benefits.
  • Continuous improvement of project execution and sustainment practices, ensuring alignment with other automation disciplines/departments on good engineering practices, solutions. Evaluation of new developments in Advanced Process Control technology. Maintain overview of Process Control activities in the region. Share know how and act as expert in the field on a regional or global level.
  • Coordination of quality assurance for goods and services.
  • Compliance with agreed health, safety and environmental objectives.
  • Active support of team building within own organization and early coordination of tasks and responsibilities within the respective project in the area of Advanced Process Control. Coaching junior engineers as mentor to improve their competence.
  • Alignment of all team members within the project/in sub-projects towards the common project objectives.
  • Active and intercultural cooperation with clients, EPC contractors as well as all project participants within the BASF Group.
  • Support/coordinate Process Control relevant activities in global/regional technical community. Participate in global teams/regional CoE's. Responsible participation in the development of specialized strategies and processes.
  • Protects BASF know-how and confidential information

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred), process control, electrical Engineering or computer science mandatory - Master degree is an advantage
  • At least 10 years total work experiences in operations or process control environment mandatory (in Advanced Process Controls, Process Control, Advanced Process Control, DMC, ASPEN, DCS)
  • At least 6-8 years work experiences in chemical and petrochemical industry is an advantage
