Description

Objectives

• Responsible for applying a layer or layers of paint or coating to a panel in order to produce a testing panel, which in turn will be subjected to various tests to ascertain the Coating materials durability. Prepares surfaces, cleans and applies coating.

Main Tasks

• Apply coatings such as primer, Base Coat & Clear Coats & some other type of coating solution to Small Metal or Plastic Panels.
• Well versed with Paint Chemistry & the nature of paint material.
• Understands the basic safety requirements while handling Spray Chemicals.
• Should be familiar with use of Hand Spray Pneumatic spray guns/ Electrostatic Bells to coat panels.
• How to adjust the Spray gun/Bell parameters & how to set the right Spray pattern.
• Check the flow and viscosity of the paint or solution.
• Check for paint defects or imperfections.
• Operate automated painting systems.
• Output measurement of sprayed panels- like checking for Color, Gloss, DOI & Appearance of paint film with various related measurement instruments.
• Follow all BASF safety practices while carrying out any activity within the working premises.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or technical related discipline required, Chemical/Polymer Engineering degree preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years’ experience in Spray Coating Related Fields
• Should be well versed with Automotive Coating Process
