Production Engineer (1703745) – Palmyra, MO As a Production Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day production operations. You will play a key role in ensuring that quality products are manufactured economically, on time, safely, and in an environmentally sound manner. Formula for Success: You Will…

  • Monitors and analyzes plant processes, equipment operation and QC data to identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization which may also include efficiency improvements, de-bottlenecking of equipment, and troubleshooting of processes to improve performance and reliability
  • Programs and performs basic maintenance on distributive control systems
  • Develops and presents operator training
  • Acts as a liaison with representatives from other departments and functions across the organization
  • Provides contractor oversight, management of plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and startups
  • Provides technical support and direction to the Shift Supervisors and operators in the resolution of plant problems
  • Responsible for supporting and meeting PSM - Process Safety Management requirements
  • Drafts and submits environmental reports as required
  • Maintains and updates operating procedures

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry
  • Knowledge of DCS (distributive control systems)
  • Strong technical skills and background
  • Demonstrated knowledge of chemical industry and OSHA safety, health, and environmental laws, regulations, and standards (including PSM - Process Safety Management)
  • Strong communication, analytical/problem solving, organizational skills, team-building, and team-working skills

We Also Look For…

  • Experience with distributive controls systems (particularly Delta V or Honeywell)
  • Experience with both batch and continuous processes
