  • Support the development and implementation of Process Safety programs for small and medium BASF sites in North America.
  • Develop and validate Pressure Relief Systems Design calculations.
  • Coordinate and review Pressure Relief Systems design calculations executed by outside contractor engineers.
  • Facilitate and lead Process Hazard Analysis.
  • Conduct Process Safety Audits, or other forms of Gap Analysis, to assess Process Safety Programs at various BASF sites in North America.
  • Provide training to Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance personnel in Pressure Relief Systems Operations and Design
  • Develop and implement Process Safety Concepts.
  • Support development of new Standards or Best Practices in Process Safety.
  • Support sites in process optimization studies including process simulation modeling.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Chemical Engineering, with a minimum of 7 years of experience as a process engineer, operations engineer, or process safety engineer.
  • Experience in leading or facilitating Process Hazard Analysis
  • A background in conducting Process Safety audit is preferred.
  • Knowledge of PSM/ RMP requirements.
  • Familiarity with Codes, standards, and RAGAGEPs in Process Safety.
  • Technical knowledge in the fundamentals of unit operations design, process simulation modeling, and pressure relief systems design.

This position requires all candidates to either currently possess or obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security.
