This position is responsible for driving reliability performance by using the most appropriate and effective tools and techniques. This position also provides technical support to Production and Maintenance personnel, leads or participates in Root Cause Failure Analyses and monitors KPI data for early identification and resolution of reliability issues. This position may also collaborate with Production and Maintenance personnel and provide services related to design review, repair, and maintenance, including predictive/preventative maintenance activities. Additionally, this position provides technical support to troubleshooting of problems and optimization of PM and PdM programs. Finally, this position also ensures a culture of continuous improvement employing LEAN Manufacturing tools.   • Ability to work with Asset Effectiveness resources to identify improvement opportunities, and propose and implement sustainable solutions for rotating and fixed mechanical equipment.
  • Solid understanding of maintenance and reliability work processes.
  • Strong background in equipment troubleshooting, including root cause failure analysis and implementation of improvement efforts.
  • Thorough background in utilization of PdM tools (e.g., vibration analysis, lube oil analysis, thermography) for equipment condition evaluation and improvement.
  • Background in optimization of equipment PM activities and strategies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with facts and figures, as well as influencing, persuading, and negotiating skills. Strong interpersonal skills are required in this position.
  • Knowledge and experience to provide technical guidance.
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical equipment design and detailed understanding of maintenance and reliability activities associated with process equipment such as centrifugal pumps, piping systems, pressure vessels (including heat exchangers), atmospheric storage tanks, positive displacement pumps, relief device. and compressors of various design.
  • General knowledge of reliability tools such as bad actor program management, FMEA, equipment criticality, and equipment strategies.
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical/petrochemical maintenance, reliability, and/or projects.
  • Broad-based, hands-on knowledge and experience with a variety of mechanical equipment, combined with an understanding of maintenance and reliability work processes.
  • Familiarity with equipment troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Experience with maintenance activities associated with process equipment such as centrifugal pumps, piping systems, pressure vessels (including heat exchangers), atmospheric storage tanks, positive displacement pumps, relief devices, and compressors of various design is a plus.
  • An effective communicator capable of effectively relaying facts and figures, along with the ability to influence, persuade, and negotiate.
  • Knowledge of API and ASME codes, vibration analysis, and equipment lubrication programs; SAP is a plus.

This position requires all candidates to either currently possess or obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
