Where the Chemistry Happens… The Admixture Systems North American business of BASF's Construction Chemicals division is a leading provider of innovative admixtures for specialty concrete used in the ready mix, precast, manufactured concrete products, underground construction, and paving markets throughout the North American region. The Technical Specialist position exists to support field service activities as related to Admixture dispenser equipment. Support will be realized through extensive work with key vendors as well as direct interaction with Dispenser Service Technicians and Field Sales. Strong support of the field sales organization is critical to maintaining and growing market share of BASF in the Admixture industry.   • Support Dispenser Service Technicians (DST’s) through assisting with technical, order, and general inquires.
  • Lead small projects related to development and support of dispenser equipment and procedures.
  • Create, maintain, and update all technical and dispenser service documents to ensure proper documentation is available to support field service activities, and notify of new maintenance procedures.
  • Work with vendor partners to ensure dispenser parts and equipment are available, and to resolve equipment-specific problems.
  • Investigate and determine root cause of all dispenser related claims and non-conformances.
  • Assist with equipment development and testing of new dispenser equipment.
  • Support safety initiatives across all field operations.
  • Ensure process safety roles and responsibilities across the organization are clearly defined, including an expectation to raise, and authority to respond to, process safety concerns. Senior leaders are held accountable for process safety performance. Employees understand the importance of process safety as it applies to their jobs and are responsible for following and contributing to the work processes to achieve improvement in company process safety performance.
  • Assure standards of safety, environmental, team, and individual performance are met in a high-performance, team-based organization.
  • Address and raise the standards at BASF
  • Overnight travel of up to 25% may be required to support the field with problem resolution or new equipment development.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering preferred); OR Associate’s degree in a technical field with 3 years of related work experience in a technical or service environment.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking/troubleshooting/prioritization skills.
  • Knowledge of design/maintenance of fluid dispensing systems and/or dispenser control systems preferred.
  • Project Management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated presentation and technical writing skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Field service/support experience preferred.
  • Experience working in with databases and SAP preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of ISO and EHS guidelines desired.
