Where the Chemistry Happens… The position is responsible for the gathering, analyzing, and reporting of key financial and economic data for the global CCM Trading business. Job duties include monthly preparation, review, and analysis of actual results and forecasts, and comparisons to forecast, prior year, and operational plan. Additional responsibilities include preparing economic analysis relating to sales and fixed costs, and providing backup capacity and support for daily trading accounting and reporting requirements. The candidate will be expected to identify opportunities for improving and optimizing current business processes, and to participate in special projects.   • Prepare the global trading business’s monthly financial reporting package including analysis and forecast for multiple global locations, with comparisons of actual results to prior year, annual operational plan, and monthly forecasts.
  • Draft monthly analyses on specific revenue, operating expense, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Supply monthly detailed fixed costs analysis.
  • Prepare monthly derivative reporting requirements.
  • Utilize reporting tools and databases to analyze and create revenue and operational expense reporting for business management.
  • Provide backup for daily trading accounting and reporting requirements surrounding trading analytics, cash, and accounts receivable.
  • Assemble weekly cash flow forecast analysis and advise management of the cash flow impact of various business decisions.
  • Prepare financial analyses of key business data.
  • Provide year end accounting support to the Finance team:
    • Prepare annual footnotes
    • Provide necessary documentation to fulfill audit requirements
  • Participate in Finance special projects and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field required.
  • Experience in an accounting or financial role preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Results-oriented and comfortable working with tight daily and month-end deadlines.
  • Self-motivated individual with strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • SAP experience preferred.
