  • Serve as a key member of the Finance team in support of all aspects of the accounting, finance and reporting needs of the assigned business segment or unit.
  • Provide financial accounting and business process support to the entire team. Analysis work can be operational or strategic in nature supporting business needs including Sales, Marketing, Logistics, and/or Manufacturing.
  • Support management in monitoring actual performance against prior periods, highlighting input or process issues, covering areas requiring management attention and making recommendations for solutions. Data prepared will often contain confidential data for various levels of management. Confidentiality of special projects will be mandatory.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline. For consideration as a development assignment, BASF will consider a general business, engineering or related degree with demonstrated experience in finance roles, projects/experience, and/or completion of an MBA.
  • At least 1 year of relevant professional experience (e.g., finance, controlling, manufacturing, product management).
  • Cross-functional team involvement.
  • Project Management experience is a plus.
  • Business and financial acumen to successfully engage business leaders and teams.
  • Business and Manufacturing knowledge/aptitude.
  • Strong sense of accountability - able to communicate, influence others without position authority: ability to engage, operate, and influence different cultures and styles.
  • Negotiation, influencing, and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and balance dual citizenship (Finance and the business).
  • Thinks innovatively to bring marketable ideas and solutions to the team.
  • Knowledge of or ability to quickly comprehend global financial and supply chain systems with ability to easily access needed data to turn into information.
  • Knowledge of or ability to quickly comprehend core financial processes and practices, inclusive of relevant statutory requirements (e.g., Management accounting, Cost accounting, SAP, and other technical requirements).
